If our mission of patient care resonates with you, Come Grow With Us in Pursuit of Excellence.Position Summary:The responsibility of a Histotechnologist is to prepare and process tissue samples for pathologists to exam and interpret. A Histotechnologist must have intermediate Histology skills and participate in leading and contributing to continuing education. Some tasks performed by this position require the technician to be eligible for high complexity testing. Environmental hazards such as formalin, communicable disease, fresh human tissue, etc. are present in the workplace. The Histology Technician must adhere to strict HIPAA standards as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.Position schedule: M-F, 1:00pm - 9:30pm, shift differential will applyEssential Duties:Histotechnologist may perform any of the following duties or groups of duties:Maintains processors, microtomes, stainers and coverslipping machinesPerforms frozen section procedures as neededConducts hazardous waste control and proper disposal of all biohazardous materials and chemically hazardous materialsPerforms IHC testing including sendouts preparation, quality control and system documentationPrepares reagentsLabels slides and distributes cases to pathologistsOther duties as assignedKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Understanding of tissue structures, techniques, principles, theory and instrumentationFamiliarity with routine handling of outside customer samplesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to work independently and as part of a teamMust have excellent hand-eye coordinationMust be detail orientedAbility to learn new computer softwaresMust be able to prioritize job tasks and meet deadlinesQualifications/Experience:HT/HTL (ASCP) certified1 year of Histology experience requiredFamiliarity with intermediate laboratory chemistryPhysical RequirementsProlonged sittingLifting up to 20 lbsManual dexterityWalkingBenefits:CellNetix offers a comprehensive benefits plan.Medical, Vision, Prescription company paid options.Employee only HSA $30.90/per month or Employee only PPO $54.30/per month.
