What You’ll Do:
Safely and efficiently draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring comfort and confidence.
Prepare, label, and process specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and compliance.
Demonstrate care and professionalism by explaining procedures clearly to patients, fostering an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
Verify patient demographics and details meticulously, ensuring correct sample labeling and documentation to support accurate lab results.
Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, infection control protocols, and company policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff alike.
Navigate multiple clinical sites, including patient service centers and healthcare facilities, with flexibility and punctuality, providing coverage as needed.
Accurately maintain records and documentation related to blood draws, patient interactions, and specimen handling.
Uphold a professional image while embodying a customer-first approach, representing a well-established clinical setting with excellence and integrity.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections, with demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collections.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and documentation.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Proficiency in data entry and maintaining accurate records.
Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record are essential, as travel between multiple sites is required.
Certification in phlebotomy is preferred; additional medical training such as a Medical Assistant or Paramedic background is a plus.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience working in a Patient Service Center or retail healthcare environment.
Bilingual communication skills.
Knowledge of safety and infection control practices.
Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and workflows.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Relevant medical training or certification (e.g., Certified Phlebotomy Technician) is highly desirable.
2 or more years of professional phlebotomy experience, especially in diverse settings including outpatient clinics and senior care facilities.
Other Requirements:
Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, to meet patient needs.
Ability to travel across multiple healthcare sites with a focus on punctuality and reliability.
Physical capacity to perform blood draws and handle specimen collection materials; ability to stand and walk frequently.
