Construction Safety Specialist (3rd Shift) Job at a Glance

  • Title: Construction Safety Specialist
  • Location: Orlando, FL | Onsite | 11p-6a
  • Contract: W2 only, 18 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI
  • Pay: $65.00-70.00 /hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Overview The Construction Safety Specialist serves as a key technical safety resource for all projects. This role supports prevention through design for guest and cast safety, regulatory compliance, safety assurance strategies, contractor safety, and hazard analysis across all project phases. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Construction Safety efforts from the feasibility phase through project completion in partnership with both internal clients and external vendors/contractors
  • Participate in inspections, field reviews/audits, and acceptance testing
  • Review contractor safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and work permits
  • Ensure contractors meet pre-qualification safety requirements
  • Monitor contractor compliance with safety regulations and site requirements
  • Facilitate and/or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-job briefings
  • Maintain frequent field presence across all projects

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in General Construction, Construction Safety, Industrial Safety and Health, Safety Engineering, or similar
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes
  • Proven experience in project design review, including understanding of the “Safety by Design” concept
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards and best practices, with ability to quickly learn internal company standards and business practices
  • Strong working knowledge of FED regulations and construction safety practices
  • Self-driven and resourceful professional with the ability to solve problems outside area of expertise
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Preferred Skills

  • OSHA 30 (Construction) or higher certification
  • CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certification
  • Experience in safety of multi-trade construction activities and construction safety industry/regulatory standards
