Culinary Arts Teacher

IDEA Public Charter School is seeking a passionate and hands-on Culinary Arts Teacher to help launch the school's new Culinary Arts program. During the 2026–2027 school year, the teacher will initially teach two sections of Culinary Arts courses while helping to build and shape the program for future growth. The position is expected to expand into a full-time role during the 2027–2028 school year as the program continues to grow.

The ideal candidate has experience working in the food industry and/or teaching culinary arts in an educational setting and is excited about introducing high school students to culinary skills, kitchen operations, food preparation, safety, professionalism, and career opportunities within the hospitality and food service industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach two sections of Culinary Arts courses
• Provide hands-on instruction in culinary techniques, food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation
• Create engaging, real-world learning experiences for students
• Help build and develop the school's Culinary Arts program
• Support students in developing professionalism, teamwork, and workplace readiness skills
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional kitchen/classroom environment
• Build relationships with culinary businesses, restaurants, and community partners
• Foster positive relationships with students and create an engaging classroom culture
