Senior Manager, Brand Communications and PR Remote Location Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Remote positions are open to applicants based anywhere in the continental U.S. Position Summary The Senior Manager, Brand Communications and PR leads Make‐A‐Wish America's public relations and communications strategy, overseeing media relations, PR, crisis communications, and collaborating with senior leadership on strategic initiatives. Duties & Responsibilities Lead and execute public relations strategy, proactive media outreach, reputation management, leadership engagement, and on‐message storytelling. Provide strategic PR consultation to chapters to strengthen local media engagement while ensuring national alignment. Identify and assess emerging issues and reputational risks, collaborate with leadership to define and execute communication strategies. Lead PR strategy for national corporate partnerships and brand activations. Partner with the Senior Manager, Digital & Social to develop integrated social, owned, and earned media strategies. Assign, prioritize, and manage media opportunities; develop, review, and approve talking points, speeches, presentations. Serve as spokesperson and lead contact for significant media interactions; build and maintain national and regional media relationships. Ensure alignment and consistency across chapter and national communication strategies and materials. Lead measurement and analysis of earned media performance using monitoring tools and reporting frameworks. Oversee day‐to‐day operations of the National Communications team – planning, budgeting, staffing, agency management. Foster a high‐performance culture through goal‐setting, accountability, performance management, professional development, and compensation administration. Monitor shifts in media, cultural, communications landscapes and apply emerging approaches to evolve strategies, storytelling, and engagement models. Qualifications 7+ years public relations or communications experience, including media strategy development and creation of press releases. 5+ years crisis and issues management experience. At least 2 years leading, mentoring, and developing PR and communications professionals. Proven success building and sustaining relationships with national media and top‐tier partners. Experience leading public relations for national corporate partnerships and executive‐level communications. Proven ability to lead integrated communications programs across earned, owned, and social channels. Experience using earned media monitoring and analytics tools. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Working Conditions Remote environment. Some travel up to 25%. Occasional work outside Monday‐Friday, including weekends and early evenings. Salary Range $86,196 – $101,500 USD Benefits Competitive compensation with annual incentive potential.
