Position: O.R. Technician (CST) Location: New York, NY 10029 Job Type: Contract Contract: 13 weeks with possibility of extension Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Guaranteed hours per week: 37.50 Pay: Local: $2400 & Travel: $2700/weekly Job Summary Pride Health is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a contract opportunity in New York, NY. This role is ideal for an O.R. Technician with strong operating room experience, particularly in cardiac cases, who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment and is committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and surgical support. Responsibilities • Perform scrub duties following established surgical and aseptic guidelines • Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, and supplies • Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating surgical needs • Maintain accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts with circulating nurses • Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer procedures • Handle specimens according to hospital policies and procedures • Support operating room setup, turnover, and equipment preparation • Maintain aseptic technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards • Assist with medication labeling and sterile field preparation under RN supervision • Support operational needs including patient transport and inventory organization Requirements • High School Diploma or GED required • Certified CST Training Program required • CST Certification required • BLS certification from AHA required • Minimum 2 years of OR Technician experience in a hospital setting required • Cardiac cases experience required and must be clearly listed on resume • Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment Preferred Qualifications • Previous experience in high-volume operating rooms preferred • Courses in operating room technology, biology, chemistry, or science preferred • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Pride Health offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k) retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto and home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
