SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS
Bus Driver
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Details: 9.5-month support staff positions, for the 2025-26 school year, with district-recognized holidays and paid sick leave. These are full-time, approximately 25 hours per week positions, with a district provided benefits package that includes employee health, dental, life and vision insurance.
Compensation: According to the Support Staff Pay Schedule within the Bus Driver range. The pay range for this position begins at $21.76-$25.72 per hour. Placement within the range on the Support Staff Pay Schedule is determined by like experience and education.
Job Summary: To provide safe and efficient transportation by driving in a careful and prudent manner and exercising the highest degree of care so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district curriculum and extra-curricular program.
Qualifications:
- Possessing a valid commercial driver license (CDL) with school bus and passenger endorsement (S&P) OR being able to acquire appropriate licensing, endorsement, and training is required
- A high school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred
- Prior school bus driving experience is preferred
- The ability to perform the essential job functions & be at least 21 years old is required
- The ability to manage the physical demands of the job is required; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable performance of the essential functions
- The ability to present a certificate annually from a health examiner indicating that they are physically qualified to operate district vehicles to transport students is required of applicants
- The ability to be dependable and punctual is required
- The ability to work independently, use good judgment, think quickly, and respond to situations in a calm manner is required
- The ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the assignment is required
- The ability to effectively supervise children is required
- The ability to communicate effectively with students in redirecting and using positive reinforcement is required
- The ability to work with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population is required
- The ability to maintain confidential information is required
- The ability to work as a team player and communicate with staff and parents is required
- The ability to develop effective working relationships with students and the school community is required
- The willingness to complete job-related training as needed is required
