Phlebotomist Lab Aide Trainee – Puget Sound MultiCare is a team that values trust and care for patients and communities. The Phlebotomist‐Lab Aide Trainee Program supports early‐career health professionals seeking certification in phlebotomy. Program Details Start Date: September 21, 2026 Trainee Pay Rate: $18.09 per hour Location: Tacoma campus (not remote) Duration: approximately 6–8 weeks Full‐time position; shift: day; schedule variable Benefit eligible after appropriate waiting period Upon completion, potential full‐time or part‐time Phlebotomist‐Lab Aide positions in Puget Sound (Puyallup, Tacoma, Olympia, Auburn, Covington, Gig Harbor) Responsibilities Obtain blood specimens from patients of all ages in acute care and ambulatory settings under supervision of a phlebotomist. Work closely with laboratory and patient care teams to ensure accurate specimen collection. Maintain a service‐oriented approach, establishing positive relationships with patients, families, and staff. Demonstrate exceptional organization, attention to detail, and sound judgment. Follow institutional policies, confidentiality, and safety protocols. Qualifications & Requirements High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous experience with phlebotomy course not required. Ability to handle patients of varied ages and backgrounds. Strong organizational and communication skills. Certification & Training Medical Assistant–Phlebotomist (MA–P) certification pursued during training; MultiCare will reimburse associated costs. Program includes training to meet Washington Department of Health certification requirements. Benefits & Conditions Competitive salary of $18.09 per hour. Benefit eligibility after waiting period.
