Contract-to-Hire Staff Accountant (Payroll & HR Experience Required) Near Pittsburgh, PA | Up to $28/hour LHH is partnering with a well-established and growing organization near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to hire a Staff Accountant with experience supporting payroll and HR functions. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to join a collaborative team while contributing to both accounting operations and employee-related processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries and support general ledger activities
  • Assist with account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Process payroll and assist with payroll reporting and compliance
  • Support HR functions including maintaining employee records and onboarding coordination
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity
  • Utilize Excel for reporting, tracking, and financial analysis
  • Assist with financial reporting and audit support
  • Collaborate across accounting and HR teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting, payroll, or related experience
  • Experience supporting payroll processing and HR functions required
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data organization)
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
